Seagulls in the Community to launch ‘The Dugout’.

The official club charity of Weston-super-Mare AFC, Seagulls in the Community, are proud to announce that they are launching a new and exciting youth club in January 2025 called ‘The Dugout’.

The club aims to provide young people with a safe, inclusive space to meet others, take part in a variety of fun activities, and join a community.  These sessions are free to attend and will start on Monday 20th January 2025 at The Optima Stadium, home of Weston-super-Mare AFC.

The Dugout will be split into two weekly sessions:

6pm - 7pm: Ages 11 - 13
7.20pm - 8.20pm: Ages 14 - 16

Seagulls in the Community have partnered with Sports Masters Coaching, who will be delivering the sessions each week.

The creation of this youth club would not be possible without the funding from The National League Trust and The North Somerset Violence Reduction Partnership.

Andrew Kynaston, Community Manager at Seagulls in the Community, said: “This has been a long time in the making but we're delighted The Dugout will be launching in January 2025 "

“We are happy to be working in partnership with the team at Sports Masters Coaching. They have a fantastic and professional approach to working with children and young people.”

“I can't wait until the first session starts."

Jack Masters, Company Director at Sports Master Coaching, said: “To get this fantastic project off the ground and given the green light is something we are immensely proud of.”

“This is a fantastic opportunity for the young people of Weston-super-Mare to get involved and enjoy the activities we will have on offer."

“We can't wait to introduce ourselves to the local community."

Young people can sign up to The Dugout online to secure their space at a session. Make an account and sign up to the sessions here. Walk-ins are also welcome.
